I’m Sjoerd van Straten, PhD candidate at the Process Analytics group in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). I received my MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and my BSc in Structural Engineering from TU/e. Working under the supervision of Dr. Ing. Marwan Hassani, I am deeply passionate about creating robust, dynamic algorithms that can adapt to continuous data streams without forgetting past information.

My current research interests are two-fold: 1) advancing predictive process monitoring and stream data mining to bridge the gap between theoretical deep learning and practical process management, and 2) leveraging continual learning and foundation models to tackle complex challenges in downstream prediction tasks.
